Mick Jones' post-Clash group, Big Audio Dynamite in all its incarnations (B.A.D, B.A.D II and Big Audio) features dance-oriented heavy back beats, clever sampling and Jones' minimalist guitar work. One of the first bands encorporating samples to perform well in the pop charts, B.A.D.'s use of samples has always been an additional element to the bands' sound, rather than a crutch for poor musical abilities or songwriting. While worlds away from the sound of the Clash, B.A.D. develops a strong club or rave sound.
