>> Buzzcocks

Combining the harsh buzzsaw guitar of classic British punk with melodies straight out of the textbook for "Pop 101," Buzzcocks pioneered pop punk, breaking out in the original punk boom of 1977, opening for the Sex Pistols and Clash on the Anarchy in the UK tour. One of the first punk bands to touch the topic of love, Buzzcocks made a name for themselves by using the tools of punk rock-- overamplified guitars, punchy beats and stripped-down bass melodies-- to build a distinctly pop-influenced sound.
