Recording as Ciccone Youth as a tribute to Madonna's long-lost last name, Sonic Youth produced a cover album of Madonna songs. More dance-oriented than typical lo-fi Sonic Youth sounds, the album was still much harsher than Madonna's original versions of the songs.
