>> Consolidated

Blatantly political, Consolidated's uptempo industrial sound weds the overtly poltical messages of punk bands such as Crass and the Dead Kennedys, with the ear-smacking sounds of industrial rock. Unabashedly socialist, Consolidated's reputation was built more on its political stance than the band's music, though "Butyric Acid," a searing pro-choice anthem, garnered the band radio play in the middle '90s. The unit would later tone down it's fare to produce funky pop numbers, though its dedication to activism wouldn't wane.
