>> Jawbreaker
Jawbreaker’s take on punk rock, using the feedback-driven guitars and doubletime snare patterns with wandering guitar arrangments proved to be one of the most recognizable sounds of punk in the ’90s, though the band never succeeded in building anything outside of a cult following. Casting off the macho posturings of punk, replacing it with poetic, introspective lyrics, Jawbreaker built a bridge between the punk and emo scenes, with emo influences, though the band sits nearer to its punk roots than most emo bands.
