>> Jesus Jones

Jumping on the Stourbridge sound, a mixture of rap, dance and punk-inspired rock, pioneered by bands such as Ned’s Atomic Dustbin and Pop Will Eat Itself, Jesus Jones produced numerous albums featuring the eclectic sound. While more mainstream than the original Stourbridge bands, Jesus Jones featured samples and dance-inspired beats with fuzzy guitars and rap-inflected vocals. While never emerging from the shadow of the original Stourbridge bands, Jesus Jones helped to accustom listeners to dance music with a heavy rock element, a sound which would later be taken to extremes by late-‘90s electronica bands like the Prodigy.
