With more emphasis on his roots influences, John Doe’s post-X work mixes blues, honkytonk country and rock into a varied sound, sometimes focusing more on rock, other times more on more traditional genres. Equally as emotional as his later work with X, Doe’s solo material focuses more on songwriting and style than the energetic X.
