KMFDM honed the both the dehumanized atmosphere and the grating aural attack of industrial to an edge unmatched by nearly every other band in the genre. Featuring barked lyrics, at times delivered in German, metallic guitar riffs, disorienting samples and the prerequisite industrial heavy beats, KMFDM’s sound is almost machinelike in its efficiency and depersonalization. With overtly political lyrics, KMFDM gave a focus to the generally all-engulfing rage of industrial, focusing the band’s sound to an even sharper edge.
