>> Saint Etienne

Saint Etienne formed with the goals of mixing '60s pop with modern-day dance grooves. While the act's aims were a trifle esoteric, it managed to produce some interesting music that blurred the lines between indie pop and dance music. Though the band would buckle under the weight of its members' various outside projects, Saint Etienne would continue to record, though its focus moved to creating more ambient, lulling sounds as it matured.
