Founded after former Youth of Today singer Ray Cappo returned from a trip to India to immerse himself in Eastern philosophy, Shelter would found Krishnacore, mixing the Eastern quest for inner balance with typical melodic hardcore musical backing. Much more positive and introverted than typical hardcore, Shelter's work aims to bring the stability of Indian philosophy into balance with the rebellious nature of the hardcore set. Though finding difficulty maintaining a stable lineup (bassist Adam Blake would leave for a stint with H2O) the act would keep its general focus strong throughout its career.
