>> Skatalites
One of ska's earliest voices, the Skatalites fleshed out the Jamaican sound in the '60s, when the style was still fresh and confined to the isle. Quickly becomming one of Jamaica's most prominent acts, the band led ska's first charge on the world. Breaking up in 1966, the band would later reform, all the while building on its legendary contributions to Jamaican music.
