>> Spiritualized
Formed from the ashes of Spacemen 3, Spritualized continued the space-rock drones under the guidance of Jason Pierce, aka J. Spaceman. The band's experimental lean wouldn't keep it from grabbing widespread attention in its British homeland. The act's use of droning guitars and keys as well as its infatuation with drug culture would remain the same until 1997's Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space, when the act moved closer to the rock mainstream.
Soon after, Pierce fired the bulk of Spiritualized's members (guitarist Mike Mooney, bassist Sean Cook and drummer Damon Reece would go on to form Lupine Howl), and issued Let It Come Down a lush, orcehstrated studio effort that turns the band away from any mainstream rock directions that may have been hinted at on its last record.
