Of all the original British punk acts, Subway Sect was one of the most artistically motivated. Drawn in by the energy of the punk scene, the Sect played alongside the rowdier bands, but created a sound strikingly different from the blistering sounds of its day, with thin, twangy guitars and a detached attitude far different from other acts.
