As a young act, Thrice blurred the lines between new-style hardcore and metal. Though the band's sound is decidely millennial hardcore, there's still nods made -- especially in its gutiars -- toward late '80s hard rock. After a few releases under its belt, the band's polished post-hardcore helped put a face on the style for the mainstream with polished production and huge choruses.
