A side project of Love and Rocket's Daniel Ash, Tones on Tail featured a sound fairly close to Ash's work with Love and Rockets, though with a heavier emphasis on atmosphere over pop influences. With thick electronic sounds and dance beats, Tones on Tail's sound is a less commercially oriented Love and Rockets.
