Ronnie James Dio is battling stomach cancer.
The heavy metal singer was diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer, according to Metal Hammer, and is entering the Mayo Clinic for treatment. No further details about the rocker's condition were revealed, though if he bumps off, in grand Black Sabbath tradition, there's a long line of Ian Gillian, Dave Donato, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin ready to fill his shoes.

| Ray Gillen, sadly not, as he was diagnosed with HIV and on December 3, 1993, he died at his New Jersey home due to AIDS-related complications. He was 32. | |
